BBA Visit

Our BBA students have successfully concluded a highly enriching industrial visit to Sahyadri Farmers Producer Company Ltd. (Sahyadri Farms) in Mohadi, Nashik, on November 13, 2025. This visit offered an invaluable opportunity for our management students to gain practical insights into one of India’s largest and most successful farmer-owned agri-enterprises.

The visit was expertly led and coordinated by faculty members:Dr. Vivek Kanade, Mrs. Shradha Goel, Mrs. Priya BoreseSahyadri Farms serves as a stellar case study in Integrated Supply Chain Management and Sustainable Agri-Business. The students explored the entire 'farm-to-fork' ecosystem, which empowers over 18,000 farmer members globally.

Focus Areas of Learning:
Operations & Technology: Students observed the state-of-the-art post-harvest infrastructure, including cold storage, sorting, grading, and advanced processing units for finished products like frozen fruits, pulps, jams, and ketchup.

Business Model Innovation:The visit provided an in-depth understanding of the Farmer Producer Company (FPC) model—a unique structure that ensures fair equity, better market access, and reduced post-harvest losses for smallholder farmers.

Global Marketing: Learning about the stringent Q uality Control (QC) and International Food Safety Standards required to export high-value produce (like grapes and pomegranates) to over 40 countries.

Value Addition: Insights were gained into vertical integration, from raw material sourcing to producing branded consumer goods and utilizing agricultural waste for BioActives, supporting a zero-waste philosophy.

This experience has significantly enhanced the students' understanding of how theoretical concepts in Operations, Finance, and Strategic Management translate into a successful, scalable, and socially impactful business reality.
